Ellen Wald, PH.D. - The OPEC+ Effect
Oil is one of the most important commodities on the planet today. Without oil, and the energy that oil provides our modern economy, our current way of life would essentially come to a standstill..
It should come as no surprise then that the oil landscape both politically and financially is unequivocally interesting!
For this reason, I truly enjoy any opportunity to discuss oil with someone as educated and informed as the guest for this podcast Ellen Wald PH.D. Ellen is a historian and scholar of the energy industry and western involvement in the Middle East. Ellen wrote the book Saudi, Inc.: The Arabian Kingdom's Pursuit of Profit and Power, and has a vast knowledge of the Middle East and oil markets in general.
As you can imagine, this was an amazing podcast and one that I hope you will enjoy!

Marc Cortez - Climate Change, Energy, and Water
As I continue to dig deeper into the world of energy and investment, the topic of climate change is ever-present. Be it from a political, social, or financial (eg, ESG) standpoint, the climate change debate continues to demand attention. In saying this, I thought it may be beneficial to speak with Marc Cortez who literally wrote a book on climate change to try and understand this issue at greater length. My goal, as always, is to learn and share information about the intricacies of this topic in an attempt to better myself as a DIY investor.
Here is a little bit about Marc: Marc Cortez is the author of 'Climaturity: A Journey into the Muddy Climate Middle', he is an entrepreneur, and is a long-time veteran of the solar, electric vehicle, and energy storage industries. Marc has raised over $23M for multiple startups, and is currently the Founder/CEO of Liquid8, a water conservation startup. Marc is also a professor of Entrepreneurship and Technology Commercialization at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Peter Sainsbury - Voluntary Carbon Markets
Check out my most recent interview with Peter Sainsbury! In this episode Peter and I dive into Voluntary Carbon markets. Until now, Peter and I have focused mainly on compliance/mandatory carbon markets so this was a fun conversation indeed! Peter added some truly fantastic insight into carbon markets during this conversation so I hope you enjoy the episode!

First things first. If you feel the need to help Ukrainians during this time of conflict and tragedy, please do so and donate to the Ukraine humanitarian crisis here https://donate.redcross.ca/page/100227/donate/1?locale=en-CA
Secondly,
Here is my most recent interview with Peter Sainsbury! The Russian invasion into Ukraine and resulting war has caused major problems for global Carbon markets, and Carbon investors. EUAs at the time of this release are down over 30% from their high of €98.45. Peter opens the show by outlining 4 channels (financial, economic, political, and social) which I believe Carbon investors need to be aware of! Peter and I then continue the conversation by discussing various risk factors and possible outcomes that may emerge as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war.
